The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation is a significant supporter of the arts, both in Asia and internationally, and a pioneer in community arts education. Since 2006 mimi has served as teaching artist, curriculum developer and program developer for the foundation’s created arts programs.
One of the most successful and wide-reaching of these is Through Our Eyes (TOE), an innovative photography and creative writing program in which high school students explore issues of identity, community & cultural heritage, and the environment.
Since its inception in 2005, TOE’s summer workshops have served more than 400 students in over 130 schools throughout Hong Kong and China. Student work from this program has been shared with the community in books and public exhibitions, such as last year’s groundbreaking projection event Wanchai In A Different Light (pictured).
